My Favorite Airbnb in Upstate New York: A Cozy Cabin in the Catskills With a Hot Tub and a Floating Deck

After the holidays settled down, I was seeking a weekend of total relaxation—nowhere to be and no distractions allowed. I wanted to travel somewhere in driving distance to my home that would allow me to stay in all weekend long—meaning plenty of amenities on the property and a fully equipped kitchen. I began browsing Airbnb for easy getaways from New York City. Plenty of options came up, but a few private cabins in the Catskills caught my attention. I landed on Cabin Blhues: A cozy cabin surrounded by nature in Narrowsburg, New York. After reading the positive reviews and seeing photos of the outdoor hot tub, the fire pit, and modern kitchen, I wasted no time booking. My boyfriend and I packed a weekender bag and headed upstate for a quiet retreat.

This upstate New York cabin is a quick 2.5 hour drive from NYC and is located between the Catskill Mountains and the Pocono Mountains. (For fans of all things après ski, it’s about 19 miles from Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain.) When I first arrived at the cabin, I was impressed by how bright and warm it felt inside—I knew right away that I picked the right place for a relaxing weekend away. We were greeted with a bottle of red wine and Dove chocolates (who can resist those?).

Don’t let this place fool you—from the outside it might appear small, but inside it’s incredibly spacious for a single-level home. Inside you’ll find three bedrooms and two full bathrooms, with enough space for up to six guests. Not only was it spotless, but I was impressed by the modern and rustic decor all throughout the cabin. As design-forward as this place is with its fun pops of color and unique furniture pieces, it still manages to feel homey. When you first step inside, you’ll see the colorful living room with a comfortable couch, large smart TV, and plenty of games.

Next to the living room is the kitchen with a gorgeous wooden dining table that I adored. This part of the cabin receives a ton of natural light, which made it one of my favorite spots. Sleek kitchenware, barstools, spacious countertops, and wooden details make the kitchen so chic. It’s fully equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, a Keurig with coffee and tea options, and even a cocktail shaker set.

The primary bedroom’s vibe is cool and comfortable with wooden panels, room-darkening curtains, a unique standing mirror, and a TV. I was grateful to see the convenient luggage rack (a personal pet peeve of mine is putting suitcases or duffel bags on top of the clean bed.) The en-suite bathroom is extremely modern with sleek black finishes, a circular mirror, a rain shower, and flattering lighting. A charming detail in the bathroom was the large, framed crossword puzzle hanging on the wall with on-theme words like “cabin,” “woods,” “getaway,” “family,” and “Catskills.”

The second bedroom features a boho design and a bright bay window that almost made me choose this room over the primary. The third bedroom is ideal for kids—it has a twin bed with a trundle. The cabin’s set-up offers privacy between the master bedroom and the others, making this place a nice option for two couples or a family.
